Mayflower is blessed with musical talent in many forms and provides various opportunities for adults to share one’s gifts in worship and celebration.
Mayflower Church has enjoyed a long tradition of musical excellence in both worship and concert, and the Chancel Choir has always been an important part of that tradition.
In addition to enriching our Sunday worship with anthems and assisting to lead the congregational singing, the choir joins with musicians from the Grand Rapids Symphony to present a major work each year.
Recent repertoire includes Vivaldi’s Gloria, Saint-Saens’ Christmas Oratorio, the Requiem by Gabriel Fauré, and Gloria by John Rutter.
Adult singers in all voice parts are welcome and invited to join this choir that comprises both volunteers and professionals.
The Chancel Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings, 7:30 – 9:00 pm, most weeks September through May, and on Sunday mornings at 9:30 am before our 10:30 am worship service.
