About

We are delighted you have found us online and hope the following information is helpful!

Mayflower is a growing, inclusive congregation of approximately 1,100 members from a wide variety of backgrounds from Presbyterian to Episcopalian, Catholic to those who did not previously belong to a church community. What we hold in common is a steadfast commitment to live out Jesus’ Great Commandment to love God, and our neighbor as ourselves.

Every Sunday we begin worship with the affirmation that at Mayflower we believe “Faith is a journey, God is good, Jesus saves, and the Spirit leads us to faith, hope and love as we honor the dignity of all God’s people.”

We begin at 10:30 a.m.

Worship is warm, traditional, and intergenerational. The sermon is grounded in scripture and addresses how faith can be expressed in our daily lives. A pipe organ and a choir program with 250 adult and children participants lead our worship service. Our service lasts about one hour and then we meet for a time of fellowship in our Atrium.

Yes. There is also an accessible restroom beside the sanctuary.

Over 250 families participate in Mayflower’s programs. These include a Midweek program on Wednesdays where we gather for a meal, participate in our Mayflower Academy, and children 3 yrs through 5th grade sing in our children’s choir program. Families also enjoy our 29UP fellowship groups and events that take advantage of the beauty of West Michigan.

Our nursery, located across from our main church offices, opens at 10:00 a.m. before the service begins. Paid trained staff members who have undergone background checks will care for your children. Information sheets are kept on each child stating allergies and special instructions. Parents receive pagers to take into the service to be alerted if needed.

We are pleased to offer our FFJ: Faith Formation Journey program. On Sundays, children ages 3-12 begin with their parents in the worship service. They are then invited to come forward for the children’s message and participate in Faith Formation Journey Curriculum. Age appropriate classes include:

Bible Beginnings is a class for children ages 4 and 5/kindergarten. They learn the meaning of worship in a structured and supportive environment as well as discuss the teachings of the Bible, recite the Lord’s Prayer and engage in a fun Bible craft.

Bible Alive is a class for 1st-4th graders and offers a rotation model that teaches a Bible story or character over several weeks. Included in each rotation are classes that utilize art, cooking, science, storytelling and music.

The Bridge is our Sunday morning program for 5th graders. Meeting in the church library, students learn how to become active members of the church.

Elevate: We are also pleased to offer Elevate – our youth program for grades 6th – 12th grade.

On Sundays from June through May, join us for our Workshops where we explore how our faith can seek understanding and be relevant in today’s world.

During the week six Bible studies meet to deepen our understanding of scripture and the spiritual life. The classes are open to and welcome visitors and new members.

Mayflower is committed to loving our neighbor as Jesus commanded. We seek to make an impact in our community, country, and around the world by housing the homeless, feeding the hungry, tutoring, and addressing issues of injustice.

Mayflower designates over $160,000 in Outreach giving and commits generous volunteer hours to express our faith in word and deed.
