Outreach

Mayflower outreach supports and partners with organizations through offering financial gifts, volunteering our time and donating our space.

Mayflower sets aside a significant percentage of our annual budget for Outreach. As we live into Jesus’ Great Commandment, these funds impact our community, our country, and our world.

Our Outreach Partners

Upcycle Bikes

Upcycle Bikes is a nonprofit organization that works to give a transportation resource to people in the community who have no transportation. Old and unused bikes are donated to Upcycle Bikes and we make them like new again. We clean them and replace old parts to make them safe and fun to ride. People in our community who need a way to move around the city can now get to school, to work, to the doctor, to the grocery store, and to wherever they need to go! Can you imagine NOT having any form of transportation?

If you have bikes in your garage or shed that are not being used, or if you are getting a new bike, please bring your old or unused bikes to:

  • Upcycle Bikes (by appointment)
    800 Monroe Ave. NW

  • REI of Grand Rapids
    3149 28th St.

  • Pedego of Grand Rapids
    6744 Cascade Rd. SE

  • Alger Bikes
    120 28th St. SW

  • Aquinas College (Campus Safety)
    1700 Fulton St. E

Energy For Mission

Mulick Park Tutoring

Over many years, Mayflower has developed a strong relationship with Mulick Elementary School, serving their students as reading, and sometimes math, mentors. Our mentorship program has steadily grown from six volunteers in 2018 to nearly twenty today. Our parents and students spend the high school lunch hour working with first and second-grade students, focusing on learning sight words and beginning reading skills.

We have found that this school-year-long commitment not only makes difference in the lives of the elementary students, but in the high schoolers' lives as well.
